March 25, 2010 Checking In, Building Up
We are nearing the end of March. This is the second full month that our group has been alive. I cannot tell you all enough that the more input we share with one another, the better this group will be. How do you want this group to look as we head further on down the road?
On that note, I want to open discussion now. If you have ideas, reflections, complaints, comments, musings, wishes, desires, expectations, etc., etc., share them with us here, by responding to this post. Let us know how we can improve our group and continue to make this experience beneficial and enjoyable.
Adrienne Rich wrote a collection of poems entitled, The Dream of a Common Language, which I have always thought to be a nice sentiment. I hope you will chose to respond to this post and express your thoughts so we can move into our third month with excitement and continue to improve our reading group.

Are there any new directions we want to take? Focuses we want to enter? Trends we want to comment on? Literature we want to explore?

As we were discussing, spark the discussions up more, get the interaction going with a little structure and try to have an extended discussion page that would really enhance the group I think.
I am also looking into ways to do this as well, then we can brainstorm together to see what we come up with like you said.
Also maybe a section where we can discuss/post things that are reading related, cool desks, book ends, articles, awards, recommendations, whatever is interesting in the reading world, and have the usual side comment column to ask ? or discuss.
Sorry to be babbling, I have been in need of a book club for too long. So nice to have fellow readers to share with.
As for everything we have going here already I love it.
I really like the questions you pose to us to get us thinking. I also love the challenges. A great way to motivate, and the prizes are a wonderful surprise!

I like the idea of adding in something to stimulate discussion, but I am not sure what kind of structure that could be. Something to keep in mind as well all brian storm is that whatever structure we want to add in still needs to allow members to be flexible in their participation.
Also, I have posted before, but would like to announce again that any time any one wants to write something book related to let me know. I would actually love to have that.
Any comments, suggestions are always, always welcome.
